Czech Republic satellite-based electronic toll

Satellite-based electronic toll for vehicles above 3.5 tonnes in the Czech Republic, commissioned on 1 December 2019. Hybrid on-board units combine satellite positioning, GSM/GPRS data transmission and DSRC for enforcement checks. The system added 867 km of newly tolled first-class roads, bringing the tolled network to more than 2,400 km. It was designed, built and commissioned by the SkyToll–CzechToll consortium within 14 months; the operator enforces the toll with the Customs Administration using enforcement stations and patrol vehicles.
