BR-101 Rio–Santos free-flow toll (CCR RioSP)
Operational
Overview
Brazil’s first free-flow toll, opened on 31 March 2023 on the BR-101 Rio–Santos highway operated by the concessionaire CCR RioSP. Gantries at Itaguaí (km 414), Mangaratiba (km 477) and Paraty (km 538) replace toll booths. Vehicles with a tag from issuers such as Sem Parar, ConectCar or Veloe are charged automatically; the others are identified by their plate and have 15 days to pay online, through the concessionaire’s app or by WhatsApp. Kapsch TrafficCom supplied the free-flow system for the first phase.
