About

Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection (FETC) operates Taiwan’s nationwide freeway electronic toll collection system under a build-operate-transfer contract with the Freeway Bureau, extended in 2024 to the end of 2035. Since 30 December 2013 the network has used distance-based multi-lane free-flow tolling, with eTag passive RFID stickers based on ISO 18000-6C read by roadside gantries. The group also runs smart parking services, and its eTag system has been adopted in Vietnam.
